Just because Clinton may get close, that doesn't mean a thing. To contravene the will of the voters would be a disaster for the democratic party and the superdelegates will not do that. Any Clinton supporter out there, if you can layout specifically the road that would get Hillary to the nomination that doesn't include cheating, I would greatly appreciate it. Thus far, none of you have offered up anything other than your own desire and hype for that to happen, but not the facts. It's all about the facts people. Show 'em to me.

The superdelegates are supposedly ones who have the best interest of the party at heart, and if they believe allowing this to go to the convention with Obama having a delegate lead and popular vote lead which will lead to the Clinton campaign trying to get Fla. and Mich. delegates seated which can not happen and which will thusly cause those states to likely go to the Republican candidate in November (this is the reason the Fla. Governor is putting his nose in this even though he is a Republican and a likely VP candidate on the McCain ticket). If the Superdelegates sway things Clinton's way they will alienate one of their most reliable constituency in African Americans. This will likely set the party back for the next 20 years. Hillary can not win November without a strong African American turnout and they will not turn out for her under current circumstances regardless of what anyone says. The superdelegates can let Obama and Bill Richarson get together to win in November or they will have to depend on Obama be willing to save Hillary's ass by taking the VP slot.

Before this story came out, one of msnbc's analysts was doing some research on the nafta charge and this came up. The Clinton campaign flat out denied it. Not only are the cheats, now they're being exposed as bare-faced liars. Anything to win, err, um...or to at least come in a close second. From NBC's Domenico Montanaro Per the Toronto Globe and Mail, in a story that was the lead on the paper's front page today, that call to the Canadian embassy was actually from the Clinton campaign, not Obama's: "Mr. [Ian] Brodie, [PM Harper's chief of staff], during the media lockup for the Feb. 26 budget, stopped to chat with several journalists, and was surrounded by a group from CTV. The conversation turned to the pledges to renegotiate the North American free-trade agreement made by the two Democratic contenders, Mr. Obama and New York Senator Hillary Clinton. "Mr. Brodie, apparently seeking to play down the potential impact on Canada, told the reporters the threat was not serious, and that someone from Ms. Clinton's campaign had even contacted Canadian diplomats to tell them not to worry because the NAFTA threats were mostly political posturing. The Canadian Press cited an unnamed source last night as saying that several people overheard the remark. "The news agency quoted that source as saying that Mr. Brodie said that someone from Ms. Clinton's campaign called and was 'telling the embassy to take it with a grain of salt.' "The story was followed by CTV's Washington bureau chief, Tom Clark, who reported that the Obama campaign, not the Clinton's, had reassured Canadian diplomats. "Mr. Clark cited unnamed Canadian sources in his initial report. Neither Clinton or Obama will get the 2025 needed so the next step is to go to the covention. The superdelegates will decide the next democrate nominie. Now the question can be raised if they vote based on what their constiuant want or based on what they want Clinton or Obama. And can you please explain to me how Clinton can cheat her way to a nomination??? If you point to Fl or MI that's crazy because if Hillary had that power they would counted in by now, also even Obama camp is supporting maybe getting those delegates seated. What I'm saying is that what ever process is in place at time time in regard to the democrate policy then you can change it in the middle of the game. This will go to the convention as it should.

One of the Clinton campaign talking points in regards to trashing Barack Obama has been his so-called connection to the Tony Rezko trial. I'm sure you remember Hillary Clinton accusing Obama of representing/working for Rezko the "slum lord" in a previous debate. It was a partial untruth -- Obama did work for Rezko's firm years ago. But it was for five hours of time and had nothing to do with the current scandal. Regardless of the finer details she tried to nail him for being associated with this person -- period. Well lo and behold the Clinton's are also "indirectly" tied to the Tony Rezko legacy. I'm sure Hillary doesn't really want the word getting out that she and her husband both benefited financially from Rezko's co-defendants. The following article is a bit more specific -- but my favorite part is the lovely photograph at the bottom featuring Hillary and Bill smiling for the cameras with Tony Rezko in between them. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/3/6/123948/7839/356/470517 I'm noticing a pattern here... Anyway. I know a lot of people are under the assumption that those standing in opposition of Hillary getting the nomination are doing so out of spite or sexism. Trust me, it's deeper than that. I was actually a fan of hers -- until I really got to "know" her. Hillary's behavior as of late is...frankly...shocking. It stinks of a win-at-any-cost dangerous ambition. She is willing to disregard the mission statement of the Democratic party and gut the party itself to win that crown. This Rezko mention is just another example of her outright hypocrisy. She opened up this "vetted" can of worms -- and I hope it's full of whoop ass that knocks her square between the eyes. I watched her over the last two days PRAISE the Republican opponent. In that same breath she insulted and dismissed her fellow Democrat rival. AND at three different press conferences no less! This was supposed to be a proud moment for Democrats and she's turned it into a dog fight. Hillary's become an opera character no different than Marquise Isabelle de Merteuil -- and we know how that ended.

Especially with Reszko going on trail for extortion and our governor being ID as politician A ( trust me there is a B C and D one also). Hillary's statement about Rezko being a slum land lord is true also with the many cases in cook county courts concerning the conditions of his many rental properties, so how is that a lie. And remember it was the Chicago Sun times that broke this this story and brought up the question of the real estate deal NOT the Clinton camp. The sad part about it was that the national press covered it and dropped it so quick. If I were Hillary I would have done the same thing. Peace

I know they were hit pretty hard when Clinton accused them of bias, but you'd think they'd fix that by being neutral and not just switching biases from Obama to Clinton. How about just reporting the news???

Like Donnie said, let's wait for a name. I don't believe CNN, MSNBC or FOX made a big deal out of it with Obbie until info surfaced that proved Obbie was telling a fib.

He talked about Clinton's nafta fiasco and, what I agree is the larger story, her implicit endorsement of McCain over Obama with the 'crossing the threshold' repetition line. He contends this crosses the line into supporting McCain to the detriment of the democrats and the party. I tend to agree. The California Primary results were finally certified on Tuesday, March 4, and the final result is that Obama has picked up 4 delegates from Hillary - for a total 8 delegate swing. In case the significance of this number escapes you, Hillary's net delegate win on March 4 was approximately 8 delegates (the certified results have yet to be tallied, but isn't expected to swing much from that number). The result? Hillary's victories on March 4 were a wash.

So that means other measures will have to take place to decide on a nominee. I guess you guys blame Hillary for even competing. She should have quit after Obama won in Iowa. How dare she challenge the Great Untouchable Obama? Shame on you Hillary for campaigning at all. I guess it's Hillary's fault that Obama was in bed with a corrupt business man who is now on trial, it's Hillary's fault that Obama and his campaign was two-faced in dealing with NAFTA, and then lied about even having a meeting with them. While we are at it, let's blame Hillary for the news story that linked McCain to a sexual relationship with a lobbyist , let's blame Hillary for Watergate, 9/11, Iraq war, assassination of JFK and RFK, Martin Luther King. What else? It's interesting how some here criticize Hillary for 'negative' and 'dirty' tactics, yet they encourage Obama to do the same. Then ignore that Obama was attacking Clinton long ago, questioning her intergrity, judgment, accusing her of not giving straight answers and now her tax returns, and even today an Obama advisor called Hillary a Monster!!!(the Obama hypocrisy is laughable). If michigan and florida are counted they could make a difference correct? Also Obama supporters are quick to say hillary is doing this because she is losing and that may be true but you know damn well he would do the same thing if he was in her shoes. You would all support him in doing this so whats the problem with hillary doing it. The votes should count point blank and somehow they will be.. They are leaving it up to the states. Hillary and her supporters have had a tough ride and now that obama is getting some negative air time his supporters are going crazy and whining. Asit has been said on a number of shows, he needs to punch back regardless and cant be soft because it isnt going to work that way.. I say if it was known for a fact that michigan and florida wont be counted then hillary should bow out but since it isnt then she should stay in it.
