it wasn't a good performance. i like her concert before that much better but the strange thing is that she actually sustained some good long notes but once
again her technique didn't work this night because the rushing her words. Life goes on...

Strange set up, and I didn't think she wanted to be there at all.
Anyway, even though there were some raspy spots what I noticed was that when she focused on what she was doing her voice sounded quite nice, and spot on. Also, her transition to falsetto is much smoother (it hasn't been like that since the BG days). This performance, in spite of being very far from perfect, set my expectations quite high for the album. Take care, Rita Whitley |

Hmmmm.... I might get some haters for this as I don't normally comment on her voice as I have been happy with her progress so I apologise for the long post
in advance.....
I kind of thought she seemed happy enough to be there...she stopped the band to talk to the crowd, and sang some songs that weren't even on her setlist. Her voice on IEW was, to me, the raspiest it has been since Divas 03. I can't understand how she is going out sounding like this. Even on a BAD day she should be vocally aware and be more focused to get the right sound. Instead it appears that when Whitney is having a bad day, she doesn't focus, and expects a miracle when she opens her mouth to sing. As a singer, i know you can have a throat problem or something when your on stage - you can feel it in your voice - Whiteny did as she coughed at one point. Obviously when you realise that your sounding croaky (as Whitney obviously does know) you should automatically think to yourself "Let's not that happen again" and use the correct technique to get your voice back on point automatically...I don't understand why Whitney can't do this because some times she can belt her top notes clearly, so with the right focus she could do this all the time. Also her pitch - especially when transitioning to head voice - but even in her chest voice, goes off but maybe we can put this down to the sound monitors. I really can't see that she has a vocal coach as a vocal coach would never let any singer go out and sound like this. However...The head voice at the end of I will always love you was on point and the clearest it has been for sometime - even clearer than in ILTL at Morocco I think. and The climax 'And Iiiii...' had more power than her previous performances of IWALY this year - she really belted there, allbeit slightly croaky, the power came out. Her tone in some parts was good but obviously then got overshadowed by the raspiness. Overall, I'm dissapointed - I'm trying to LOOK for good points wheras with Morocco the good points jumped out. I have to say though - the backing singers sounded HIDEOUS at parts and the band wasn't good either. I do still have faith that it's all down to Whitney. She has to realise (at least when she's singing Live), that the years have taken their toll on the voice and she needs to WARM up - she clearly didn't. The more she sings like this - the more DAMAGE will be done to her voice and that's not what we want. If Whitney wants this comeback in November she is really gonna have to work hard cos she is gonna have bad days again and she needs to make sure that other bad days will be more focused. Come on Whitney, you can do it!!! |

... and that's why she needs to stop smoking those rasshole cigarettes...

I mean come on!! She's WHITNEY "THE VOICE" HOUSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She needs to take care of her voice... and it's no joke... when
she's bad she's REALLY BAD!!!! I am like, one of the biggest Whitney Houston fans on EARTH but that performance sounded more like a first round
American Idol reject than the queen of pop, soul and r&b!
Whitney needs to realise that the label's money is invested here... milllions of it... running around town partying and smoking cigarettes do not a diva make, I am sorry, but Whitney needs to get her act together, and I hope people in her camp are talking straight to her and not pussy-footing around the situation... this performance was terrifying! I cried when I listened to this, trully. Any karaoke singer anywhere in the World could sing I Will Always Love You better than that, and I know everyone here is gong to cuss my ass for this post but I don't care. We're here loving her, waiting patiently for her return, and her label does not even have the respect to keep fans updated.... no information, no buzz, nothing... and Whitney NEVER blogs on her official website (which is THE WORST WEBSITE BY ANY MAJOR DIVA PERIOD) or does anything that even hints at her being interested in keeping her fans, and I'm really getting tired of it... this performance depressed me, and I wonder how she trully felt about it. If the voice is not up to par... DO NOT PERFORM... attend parties as a celebrity and get paid for it... present awards at major shows, do movies, do commercials as a model...do not sing and ruin the legacy...sing only when the voice is absolutely READY. PLEASE. THIS IS HISTORY THAT'S BEING FUCKED WITH HERE!!! |

What the rasshole was that? If I was the organizer of that event in Kazachstan I would want every cent of my money back. SERIOUSLY.
The stage was BEAUTIFUL...SIMPLY STUNNING... Her image- STUNNING...Her hair- FIERCE... Makup- FIERCE- Her crowd interaction- AWESOME... Everything musical was HORRIBLE... sad, very sad. Very sad. The band sounded like they were an amateur band playing on top of soundtracks. AWFUL! And I heard she got MILLIONS for this performance. If WHitney did vegas, that is what her stage and her hair, her makeup, her clothes etc should look like... but she needs to get her act together MUSICALLY. A guitar in the background plucking at classic songs and sounding horrible... and backing vocalists who do not compliment her voice AT ALL!!! Do they think this is a damn joke? |

What's going on with IEW? She missed the timing to start the song, sang the "cuz I'm every woman... it's all in me" verse twice, which is
freaking weird and at the end the music stopped so suddenly that everyone including Whitney herself seemed to be shocked. Then you see Whitney turn around to
talk to the crew and said something like "oh my God". She managed to take control and sorta be cool about it by greeting the audience, but all of a
sudden the music for MLIYL started! She then had to tell them to stop it! Geez, this is really one of the most embarrassing moments in her career! I wonder
who the musical director was or if there was really one! This is so not professional!
She was vocally off that night and all other things were not on her side either. She looked sooo lonely on that awfully designed HUGE stage. The outdoor weather and the breeze didn't let her beautiful hairdo and outfit stay the way they should be. Not to mention that she had to be super careful walking on the slippery floor. Vocally I do appreciate that she hit the two high notes for IWALY herself (the second one was actually pretty good) without help from the slacking background singers but she really needs to work on her chest voice. I just hope that she takes her time in the studio and gives us something better. |

Whitney Probably Goes to a vocal coach already

Off night, but not off track. How can one comeback without actually getting out there and messing up from time to time.
She's singing in the original keys and her range is not there YET. But you know what, She DEFINITELY has the notes But she needs to work for a good year on this vocal restoration. The cigs can go whenever she is ready. But I hope people can now see that Whitney has sustained damage that's not about smoking. It's injury to the cords. That's why it's taking so long. But I for one appreciate seeing this. It's very unadorned and gives me a complete picture of her vocal issues. The cords are not vibrating in the belting range. The are simply frozen. The fluidity is lacking, but could clearly come back with continued work. Some of the falsettos were flawless. Others were non-existent. Still others sounding like drowning cats. There's no consistency. But yes her tone is lovely. THIS VOICE CAN RECOVER |

you know what. lol i can't defend this seriously. What the fuck is wrong with the sound? Why is the band and whitney so not together? They sounded MUCH
better the last three concert.
I'll let the haters have whitney on this one... I'm not gonna stress this... |

I believe in whitney but damn... i can't wait for the first single though.. I'm ready for her to do new music. Singing her old music maybe not fit her
current voice well. I think it was a off night but this is the very last performance before we actually hear a first single. I just hope she have her stuff
together in time. its not the end of the world but wow...

I'll also mention this, Whitney is having a really hard time with her technique right now. i'm sure she have a idea on HOW to sing these songs but She
doesn't take her time it seems. Its not every performance either. I don't believe its because she's a "Lazy" singer. She just don't
use the right technique right. Like she can't trust her voice to do certain things so she goes around it by rushing it a bit. That have to be fixed. i mean
in morocco i thought she was damn good with her technique and approach to certain songs. Whitney's Overall tone is NOT the big issue. Her singing technique
is very suspect right now.
