My lord...Every week we have rumors about this album..When will this stop and we'll finally have some offical news from a reliable source???

I won't believe anything until it is made official by J Records. And you all should do the same.
Later desillusions will come. Silence will get back and we will notice it was only a rumour. You gotta face the facts. We have been there so many times... So before getting again and again so happy, wait until J Records states anything officially. |

Remember "Mr.Carter" ?
Remember the "surgery" ? Remember "Like I never left"? Did we get later any confirmation, official confirmation, to check all that information was true? No. Than you gottsa wait until J Records speaks. |

Of course, some of you out there, feel free to start calling me/us "haters". We also have been there before.....

DD wrote: This would be a dream come true to a lot of fans on both sides, but there have been planned duets between the two ever since the 1980s and none of them have panned out, yet. Some trivia: - In '87, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" was originally meant to be a duet between Whitney and MJ, but when the offer was declined Siedah Garrett did the part instead. - Rodney Jerkins wrote "If I Told You That" as a duet for Michael and Whitney, but couldn't get it to happen so George Michael did the duet instead. |

Folks...let me just say...for all doubters...
|
First of all, let's get one thing straight... my job is in the music industry...at an international level... I interact almost daily with executives from
most major record labels, and dozens of major artist manages from across the globe. I will not jeopradize my contacts and mess with my means of existance by
revealing private details from my sources on this board, but I will try to keep you as informed as I can without revealing the names of my sources.
The only reason I called my source at Sony / BMG is because alot of people were telling me the same things, and he is the only person I KNOW would know, because in 2007 when we were trying to book Whitney Houston to perform at the Barbados Music Awards, he was the one who made the connection to her management on our behalf, and I figured he'd know what's going on internally. This guy is VERY connected, and I don't need to bullshit anyone on this board. The news was just BURNING ME TO MY SOUL and I had to share it with you guys, but if when I bring info like this to this board it's going to be met with accusations that I'm "lying" then I'll just keep my mouth shut from now on. JUST TO NOTE- Just yesterday (and anyone from Barbados can tell you this), I produced a show (the 5th annual Hip-Hop Festival) with Kardinal Offishall (who is a Konvict Music artist as in signed to Akon) on it (as in Dangerous w. Akon and Tide is High w. Rihanna- Kardinal), and through the very same people in that camp, is how I found out the details about Like I Never Left, and that's the same guy I get all my info from on Whitney... up to the MINUTE. Another point to jog your common sense for all the doubters... which two producers have BOTH WHITNEY AND MICHAEL JACKSON been working with lately? And... what could be so BIG AS IN COLOSSAL...that it would make Michael Jackson put a lucrative tour and reunion album with the Jackson 5 on hold? All I can say, is don't be surprised if Michael Jackson sets a release date of either December 16th or February as well... not that I know what I'm taking about. Just don't be surprised. The two camps just need to finalize negotiatons now and it's on. (As in whose project would come out first, who would have top billing for the single, royalty splits etc- ie business stuff not artistic stuff) Believe it or not, it's the truth...and for Whitney's project right now, they are looking at a December 16th release date (because other releases from Arista and Sony did not have the massive sales expected- eg Pink, and due to her recnt troubles Jennifer Hudson will not be pomoting as expected- and the label needs a Christmas BLOCKBUSTER... hence the sudden rush), and if that doesn't work, they'll be going for a February release. Look for a "leaked" song very soon from Whitney, unless they definitively confirm that they'll go for February instead, then the lead single won't "leak" until December. Bye... I'm going back to keeping my mouth shut while keeping my ears to the ground for any industry tid-bits. Let me know if I should share in the future or if I should be quiet. You can all go ahead and call J Records for information, but they'll tell you the basics and keep the REAL details to themselves, because everything about this project is supposed to have a SHOCK effect, to cause instant reaction to her release which would = colossal first-week sales and instant interest in her product. All I'll say about the Dianne Warren song... is if you like HURT by Christina Aguilera, or Uninvited by Alanis Morissette, then you'll LOVE what Dianne did for Whitney... powerful 10-second-long belt with a modulation right in the middle of it, full classical orchestra sound (like a fucking 'jumbo jet' of an orchestra if that makes any sense) and all... I'm back to keeping my big mouth shut... there have been alot of industry sampling of the songs on this project, and alot of provate listening-to-get-your-opinion-sessions... so it's no big secret that she's done a tremendous volume of recordings... ok I'll shut up now |

I can tell you now that some of this information does not ring true. I don't even work that high up in the company and I can assure you that the singles
for her album have NOT been picked yet. Maybe a first single would be identified, but most singles are "last minute" decisions based on the chart
success and radio response to the album's initial impact.
I can try to talk to a few contacts and try to confirm some of this information. I know information is tight, but I think I can get a confirmation (or denial) of some of this info. |

I appreciate the fact that if it's true or not, it's some good gossip/rumours/possibility whatever you want to call, it's got the pot stirring. I
for one would love a Michael & Whitney duet. For the Alicia duet, I would like for it to happen but it's not as exciting as the possible Whitney &
Michael duet. I can be sure about this, whatever the finished product maybe......I will totally be grateful & elated!

hi, this is my first post... I've been reading the board for a while now and I am happy to finally be able to reply... I will say that wether these
rumors are false or true, at least it gives us something to talk about and it keeps the hype out there... One thing is certain, Whitney's album is coming
out soon, if not at the end of december then definitely in the first part of 2009. There have been too many producers mentionning working with Whitney, and
there have even been articles saying that people like Leona Lewis, Monica, etc. have been asked to listen to Whitney's new material to form an opinion.
Whitney definitely has been recording.

I think Ronnie has been around long enough for us to know he wouldnt BS for no reason, and if this information is provided by someone he trusts, then I for one
believe him............I can totally believe that the label need a 4th quarter huge seller as everyone else who was predicted to have huge sales, didnt really
come though for various reasons...........however, I still feel its a little too rushed, but if the product is great, may be she could just literally explode
out of the box with it.

I would prefer they go for the pre-Valentine's...
|
I'm really hoping for February, because if they go for December, then she's up against other projects that have a better setup, but hey...she's
Whitney Houston, and anything can happen. I don't think there is any possibility of her selling less than 500,000 the first week out with this project, and
if it's close to Christmas ( which has never been done before for a Whitney project) then I am sure she could do a million units, because for instance, AC
/ DC's comeback didn't have the buzz this Whitney album will generate, and it's the same demographic, same as the Eagles... people in their 30s,
40s, 50s and 60s are not interested in downloads...they still buy physical CDs.
