^^^ I too believe that the album was delayed because there was so many good songs to choose from and also because of her voice.

I think the material played a part in the delay also and whitney was still trying to get things right with herself also. And i think that was one of the very
first and foremost MAIN THING.

I agree the material and Whitney, and there's no question her voice played a [big] part in the delay too. And the comments Clive made some months ago about
her "returning to form" and "she knows what the expectations are so she's working very hard" pretty much clarify that for me.

Before then, wasn't she photographed taking a walk with an unidentified guy? Also, she was in DC for the BET appearance, at Clive's party in February and the Grammys the next night. I don't understand what they're talking about. The twitter folks need to calm down. For real. |

you're talking shots 2-4 mos ago.. today's tabloid society and cyberspace that's a light year. compared that too B and others. they all over the place 24-7. |

We will see enough of Whitney when the time is right. The upcoming BET Awards (as a presenter) would make sense but we'll have to see of that's the move Arista/Whitney wants to make. If she appears, I doubt she'd perform a brand new song to an audience who's never heard it (seems very risky) but I may live to eat those words. LOL! |

^ I agree, less is more.
Stars are much more interesting when they are seen as unobtainable. |

Can't agree on "BET-presenter-is-enough" point...I mean...we've been there...now its REAL promo time, and for it Whitney should do sth more
than merely prove she is alive adequate and not too thin...she is not just a model (the way many would see her in the recent couple of years - an appearance
star, not a performing one) but as a singer...no...as The Singer...imho

It's too much to risk! Come on, the very first time the world hear's Whitneys song is going to be live... not a good idea, and not just because of the
voice concern, but it's odd to perform a song in front of people that no one has heard before. I say show up look good, getting a standing O, get the media
talking one more time and release the single that week, hell she can even hold a press conference during the awards about the new album.

onewishguy wrote:I could be wrong-- it's merely speculation on my part-- but it seems to me that the single would have already dropped to radio before Whitney performed it live. I just can't see Arista/Whitney taking the risk on an untested song with so much riding on the table. Are there any music award shows scheduled for August prior the album dropping? If so, I would assume that's a safer bet. |

Whitneyluva wrote:I agree. July is right around the corner which is when the single is scheduled to go to radio anyway. I think a telling sign of what the first single will be (if she's a presenter) is if Alicia Keys introduces her or they present together. |

don't forget all the talk shows. lettermen would be best for a late nite slot debut. a few major artists including U2 has used lettermen to announce singles/albums. |

No there aren't any, I think the next one will be MTV Video Awards in september. But the BET should be the kick off for promo. I'm sure the week the
album drops, she'll be hitting the morning shows, late night shows, and i'm pretty positive BET will have a special and one of the big interviewers
will have a special with Whitney. But now that I think about Whitney wont be on Oprah till later, bc Oprah's show will not be back in season by Sept 1st.
I'm curious to what type of promo she can do overseas.
