It is possible to use the same tittle as many times as desired.
Diana Ross has 2 "Diana Ross" albums: "Diana Ross" (1970) and "Diana Ross" (1976). She also has 2 "Ross" albums: "Ross" (1978) and "Ross" (1983). (She also has a "diana" one and a "diana!" TV soundtrack LOL) Aretha Franklin relased two albums in the 80's after "Aretha"'s name: "Aretha" (1980) and "Aretha" (1986). So Whitney can name her album "Whitney Houston" again, though I would like an album not including the word "Whitney" in the title; we have "Whitney Houston", "Whitney", "Just Whitney" and "Love Whitney". What's next? "Only Whitney" :S. |

also we have "Whitney - The Greatest Hits"

I thought about that one, and I know we the fans use to call it that way... but I am not sure it is the official name.
I believe the official name is "The Greatest Hits" alone (look at the spin of the CD for example, it says "WHITNEY HOUSTON THE GREATEST HITS"). |

I really don't have any interest in the album being called "Greatest hits" or "Whitney. The greatest hits", but even in
www.whitneyhouston.com it is listed as "Greatest hits"
In fact I never seen it listed as "Whitney. The Greatest Hits", only in Whitney forums. |

Guys,
I got like 6 calls from friends of mine who aren't Whitney fans telling me they seen this poster. But they all think the album is called Whitney Houston. I wish Arista would have put WHITNEY HOUSTON NEW UNTITLED ALBUM COMING SEPT 1 its confusing non Whitney fans who want to buy the album thwy don't know she has a self titled cd already. |

I think her name transcends whatever the title may be. I think they are just trying to make aware that WHITNEY HOUSTON has a new album out and that is all that
is important

Nippy would be a cute title for the album lol

Well if the new album is being called Whitney Houston it can either be a clever way for the record company pull in new fans to get to know Whitney. So if you
were to do a search for Whitney Houston the album on a shopping site you will get her very first album alongside the new one.
As for we fans, I think it is a bit confusing. I hope the company is more creative than that than just to call the new long anticipated album Whitney Houston. Regardless, I think it is a good ploy for proliferation of the new album and Whitney's return to the music scene. So we all can keep guessing for now what will be the new album name be! |

Forgot to ask, has anyone in the UK seen that poster advert yet?
Yes just like everyone else I want that poster too. I remembered in 1996 when I was on a holiday in LA, I took a photo beside the poster of The Preacher's Wife which was close to the Tower's Record near the Viper Room. |
