Hey everyone. I am kinda new to posting here (even though I've been visiting this site for quite a while now) so this is actually my first post. Anyway, I don't mean to belabor the discussion about the whole clock issue but I just wanted to add my perspective if you don't mind reading it. I too noticed that the clock had an additional 12 hours, but I sorta figured that is was done strategically. First of all, knowing how these 24hour retail stores are (especially Walmart) you can count on the fact that a lot of stores will NOT have the CD available at 12:00am. It is wise to always have some wiggle room as a company whenever a product or event is advertised. Arista knows that it is more likely that by 12:00pm on Sept 1, most if not all of the retail stores would have the CD in stock and ready for purchase as opposed to 12:00am. If I were a Walmart worker or manager and someone came in to buy the "I look to You" cd that I know I didn't put out as yet because me and my staff was just too busy to focus on that, I can easily direct you to the Whitney website what would say that it isn't technically available until 12:00pm. Perhaps 12:00pm is the time that has been negotiated with the retailers as a deadline to actually have the product available. We simply just don't know. So yes even though September 1 technically starts at 12:00am, that is not necessarily when the CD is guaranteed by the retailer to be available. As much as we will hope and wish that every Whitney Houston CD will be in stock by 12:00am, stores, managers, workers, etc, differ in their work ethic. The last thing Arista needs is bad publicity because their clock ran out at 12:00am Sept thus leaving the consumer with the expectation that the CD would not be available everywhere at that exact moment since we all know that won't be the case.
