I love this song (I have it on repeat @ this very moment going on maybe my 12th listen, haha) but like everybody else is saying Arista if you're reading
this, please give us an uptempo first. we fans will love & embrace anything Whitney has to offer but an uptempo is ideal for this time of yr except you
plan on releasing this along with an uptempo then fine......love Whitney sooooooooo much

I just compared it against the MLIYL ballads and it sits very well with those. The vocals are more raw than those ballads, but they still sound much stronger
than the past few years.
Structurally, it reminds me of IWALY, very minimal backing at the beginning and continually builds to a climactic emotional part, but ends soft and sweet. I think the Peter Rauhofer mix will be killer when it comes out, which is strange b/c I usually don't like his work. |

She WILL kill it live! You could hear the restraint in her voice. She gave the song what it neededm not what she wanted. Watch! When she sings it live,
IT'S OVER AND DONE! THE VOICE IS BACK!

I love the song and the message, it's very personal as everybody can see. But I don't believe it's the first single, this is the perfect song to
reintroduce her. We'll see, we won't have to wait very long I guess!

The more I listen to this, the more I am convinced that this was not an authorized version and that Arista definitely didn't leak this. It isn't mixed
properly. It doesn't even sound like they finished mixing it at all. I am listening to it through different speakers (including my studio speakers). The
instrumentation and vocals aren't balanced. It was still in the mixing process when it was leaked. Still love it though!

Isn't this what we have been asking for, a Whitney album with up tempos like MYLYL album and ballads that remains the old Whitney ballads.

I like it, I don't love it. However I do think Whitney needs to come out from the jump say hey I made some mistakes we all do. Now im done talking bout it
lets move on. This songs says just that!!! I don't like the vocals as much as i did from the grammy night however it doesn't sound finish. I hope to
have at least 15 songs on the CD that way they can release 2 songs from the jump beyonce style. Whitney can attract two different areas of the music world.

All I know is that I'm not listening to ANYTHING else. This was enough to give my excitement merit. If it isn't truly the first single, it is the only
song I will hear early besides whatever does happen to be the single.
I feel like this song would have worked on radio if they put more of a beat behind it. I love it the way it is, but maybe they could make a "single version" that makes it a little more radio friendly. I also think that Whitney has more in her and she could demolish this song LIVE (in a good way!) |

I also agree that releasing two singles could be in the best interest of the album. It may sacrifice a single from going to #1, but album sales are more
important to me. And who knows, maybe one single will take off and the other will die down naturally. I really just want something in the clubs playing Whitney
this summer!
Can't wait for "Million Dollar Bill". |

mcworld wrote: That is so true. I love her that song and her CD. But if this is a leak, I expect the CD version to be cleaner. I will grade this song a A- due to the fact that it sounds dated. Whitney's vocals are fine, the emotion is there and her delivery is very good. |

I for one am 100% sure this is not the first single, but it's a great song to reintroduce her back to the public, It would be strange if Whitney came out
with a club banger from the get go acting like nothing happened this past 7 years. But now we have gotten a personal statement from Whitney through this song.
Next step a rnb club banger first single.

Thanks Kev for posting this, I don't know where or how you got it but thanks.
Her voice sounds fine. It sounds clear, strong, restraint, and tons of emotion. The only flaw is that there are too many words, and it sounds like she is rushing to fit everything in, and it comes across as talksinging-ish. But overall, I'm happy with the vocals. I didn't cringe at anything. The ending alone almost brought a tear to my eye. The song however is mediocre. The lyrics are horrible, Diane Warren at her best is still mediocre, but this is her on autopilot. I hope this isn't the first single. There is nothing wrong with releasing a ballad as the first single, but it has to be a good ballad, and this isn't it. This could work as a 6th or 7th single just for the AC audience, but its probably better off to just leave it as an album track. |
