People that truly loved and knew Whitney participated. I know a lot of people wanted Beyonce to participate but I think it was perfect for Monica and Brandy to pay tribute. They've stanned for Whitney for years!!! Monica is a vocal powerhouse...she did ILTL justice. Brandy did great as well. Can't blame her for not wanting to perform a Whitney song live but it was a little strange to watch considering Brandy is known for her vocals. All around great job by BET!!

Soulja Boy just said on the After party show that he felt he had really came to see the Whitney Houston tribute and got that and said he would see her out and about recently and to have her not be here anymore is crazy and sad. He was touched and God was really in the building for that tribute. Also, Megan Goode and her husband was interviewed and she/they showed Whitney a ton of love as usual. And she said please everyone go out and see and support SPARKLE because it's Whitney's final film, and she said she saw it and Whitney is phenomenal in it. And her husband said that the media try to show people how Whitney really is, but in this movie u will see Whitney shining through and her performance in the movie is mind blowing and superb. They showed Whitney a ton of love!

Anyways this tribute will stay on my dvr for awhile. I enjoyed it, and glad BET gave Whitney what she deserved.

They also read some of the Whitney tweets and they were nice and said it was the best tribute and good job BET, ect ect. So many of the stars interviewed also said the Whitney Tribute was their highlight/favorite moment.

CISSY AND GARY brought me to tears, like so much i tried to hold back but i couldn't. When gary sung "Where You Are" they lyrics speak so real true , this whole time we been saying "I Look To You" was the one that did but "Where You Are" is really hitting home for me. I dont understand why everyone is so hype about they wanted Beyonce to perform in it. Im glad she didn't im not to sure of how much of a whitney fan she was but i guess ppl figure hottest thing at the moment just do it. But she shed a tear when cissy was singing. I loved to see Chaka she looked good, and walked on that stage and sung her songggg...lol. Whitney was truly loved , i was a bit shocked that the rappers and high rollers was nodding a bit. I Guess. But hey Whitney touched everyone in every type of way.

Now we see where Whitney got her grace, stage presence, and voice!, The Waiting to Exhale girls gaving touching tributes, Chaka was my least favorite but still did good and I could tell that she loved Whitney. Pat in the stands and out of the spotlight and no Aretha at all. BET did gets an A+. SN the Donna Summer tribute was cute, but not at all worthy of a star of her magnitude.

Regardless of the fans differences Whitney and Mariah were closer in ways the world could never know. The only other person that truly understood what Whitney went through as a pop diva icon is Mariah Carey. Its sad for Mariah because she knows the one other person that could truly understand her is gone. Brandy and Monica, this is tough but its my opinion about these two. I wish Brandy had Monica's confidence on stage and that Monica had Brandy's talent. I know I know ouch but thats just how I see it...and please dont take this too serious its just my thoughts. Cissy Houston singing for Nip....That was the most emotional moment I think I have ever saw on TV. That was really the closure a lot of people needed. To see Cissy's strength tonight just was monumental to me. My mind just started flashing, Merv Griffin show Cissy directing behind young Whitney, GLOA Whitney and Cissy on stage at the end of the video, IEW video, The preachers wife, The countless award shows and then tonight, She is singing for her daughter who is not here, and she sang Bridge over troubled water, the lyrics said everything that She needed to say about what her daughter meant to her. Chaka its always great to see her and she is Chaka period. For the lighter side of things If I can caption Beyonces thoughts during this performance, At one moment she was crying "OOOOHhhh Lord I thank God for Tina Knowles!" and when Brandy and Monica where singing "Yup I still got the game on lock....I need to make a nail appointment" And when Chaka was on stage "Really Bitches??? Im sitting in the front row and this is how yall come for me?" "GTFOH" LOL

I was not buying the "closeness" thing before as we were really not hearing much from the two women about one another since WYB. But I guess it is true (With the Darren Criss story, etc.) Like what Mariah said before in GMA, 'i dont think people could ever understand our relationship'.

It was easily a 9/10 (it could only have been 10/10 if Whitney was sat on the front row in the gown of all gowns waving her perfectly placed hair in proclamation just like in my avi!) I miss you Whitney On a performance note. The only thing I could criticize was that I would have liked to have seen Beyoncé perform!
