Joey- why are you copying and pasting your post from one thread to the other? I just responded to this post in another thread...lol Do you feel as if
you're not being heard? - just asking, don't mean any harm by the question...

OK y'all! Arista is taking this very seriously. Just 2 hours ago after reading post about Pamese's reponse email, I immediately wrote an email to that
add. Not knowing he would reply that fast (How come they are working on Sundays?). Anyways heres his reply:

I never thought they would reply that fast. I remember back during the JW era I emailed arista regarding TIOMO and I never got an reply. OMG this palmese guy seems to be important I remember Whitney mentioned him during her 2000 Grammy speech. |

Re: Whitney Houston's: IDKMOS: Production Quality? LackingSunday, July 5, 2009 6:17 PM
From: "Richard.Palmese@sonymusic.com" Add sender to ContactsTo: @yahoo.com The leak IS NOT a final mastered version .... no worries. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: To: Palmese, Richard, RCA Music Group Sent: Sun Jul 05 18:14:00 2009 Subject: Whitney Houston's: IDKMOS: Production Quality? Lacking Hi Mr. Plamese, I am a fan of Ms. HOuston and I recently heard the leaked, 'I Didn't Know My Own Strenght' song. While I think that her vocals are fine and that the song is uplifting, the production quality seems subpar. This doesn't seem indicative of Mr. Foster's past work. If I could be so candid, the mixing/enginerring and production sounds like an intern did it. I would hope that this is not the final version of the song and that the song would be redone i.e addition of a backing choir perhaps or better backing/layered vocals and a proper mixing effort. We all want Whitney's return to be a sucess and while I find her vocals to be fine, the production quality seems lacking and the song is crying out for a backing choir or better backing vocals. Regards, ******************************************* I didn't know how to take a snapshot of the email so I just copied/pasted and deleted my name and email. However, like the others, he is saying that this is NOT the final version. I work for a major corp and deal with coworkers in another country and when I email them to their work account, if they are in the field or away from the building, they respond via blackberry but it says response via blackberry so who knows. i am sure that he is plugged into his email someone. |

In re to people talking about buying copies of the first single:
You can buy up to 2 copies at a time from a single store for it to count towards the charts. You can only by one version of a song once at an IP address for it to count towards the charts. HOWEVER, if Arista puts up remixes and such for the first single, and if you buy each of those individually, each download will count towards the charts. |

Tiburones5 wrote: Come on. Are you guys really serious??? Wow!!! This is so unnecessary. This random silly emailing should really cease. What you're going to force them to do is not respond to any more emails from "fans". Attacking David's work because you don't like this track is not an intelligent defense as to why this single shouldn't be released. Then you go further to offer YOUR suggestions. What are your credentials as it relates to the music industry and successful releases? |

THANK YOU GOD! In the studio it should be impossible to come out with anything less than a perfect vocal.

Tiburones5 wrote: Tiburones, No deep breaths necessary. In fact, I think you've taken too many successively (hyperventilating it seems). You say you think ARISTA purposefully leaked this song (but you don't think it was in it's final form????) Why do you think they would intentionally leak an unmastered song? THAT makes no sense. You don't release an incomplete song to get the crowds reaction. And for the record, I have been visiting this board since long before the MLIYL error and just because ARISTA didn't respond to people on the board doesn't mean that they didn't respond to fans in general. They did. Always have! |

And for the record, I have been visiting this board since long before the MLIYL error and just because ARISTA didn't respond to people on the board doesn't mean that they didn't respond to fans in general. They did. Always have! I will play nice and ignore your first sentence assuming that you are a mature adult and would like to engage in a mature conversation even if we may disagree. In regards to your first question, my only response would be that it may have been leaked to test the waters to get some feedback from people not close to Arista ie. the real world. I could be wrong however and I have no problem in admitting that. I have a hard time believing that those remixes were sent out as they were both horrid with PR sounding slightly better. I am still in disbelief that JV would do a remix of that subpar quality on the fly or not. I have heard other mixes by him and I know that he is cabable of better. having said that, other than looking for feedback, I agree with you, the action makes no sense. We don't have to go into how long you have been visiting this board, I am sure that like me, you are a huge Whitney fan. I can tell you that since I have posted to this board BEFORE MLIYL, Arista to my knowledge has never really responded to the fans the way that they have now. I know that fans wrote Arista many, many times regarding different aspects of "Whitney's career and I don't recall they responding this way. I could be wrong and if so, I stand corrected but I don't recall them engaging the fans the way that Mr. Palmese has or even this much action from her official site or even the contest. I would take it that you are angry that fans dared to email Mr. Palmese. While I do feel a tinge of guilt about publishing this email, he is a big boy and I am sure he knows what is going on and if he didn't want his email published, he would have placed a disclaimer in his response like we do at my job. This is what some fans do and it is not a big deal. I chose not to leave my opinion here where it possibly would not be seen by ARista and email it to someone who 'may' find it useful. I don't presume to know more than them but even fans sometimes seems to have Whitney's interest more at heart ie L.A Reid's sign off on Whitney doing that very detrimental interview with Dianne Sawyer, the release of 'Whatulookinat' etc, etc, etc. |

The label receives countless e-mails from media and fans alike whether the CW members e-mail them or not. I think its a good thing, and it keeps them paying
attention.
