thanks but we still don't know if this is a single or just a leak.

i honestly don't want think about this song charting until arista actually takes the time to confirm it as the first single.... because the airplay
definitely won't impact well right now until it is actually confirmed IMO.

Thanks, Bobby. Please keep us in the loop.
I'm sure Arista will confirm the song by next week. It's leak to the internet is par for the course as to how things are done now. Several promenient website have debuted the song. Had that not been the record company's intension, then cease and desist letters would have gone out. My insider told me (and it's pretty obvious) Clive has so much emotionally invested in thie project. He really wants it to succeed. Based on the reactions-- 70/30 or 65/35 across the board -- the song was the right choice. |

JoeyOnTheRun |

actually think the response is more 50 /50 actually(with most saying it is not first single material) and if thats the case its not a good choice because of
the risk at hand here. She would probably be best release something laid back and R&B like exhale or something along those lines but still have the lyrics
to tell her story. I love the song but the reactions is not what SHOULD be at this point. the response have been its good, boring, what happened to her voice,
crap, great, ok, horrible, etc. You want alot more balanced then that really. They need to either leak another song soon this week or just confirm this as the
first single, so we the fans can really start jumping on it.

^From what I've seen 65-35 seems to be what I was seeing, it's just that the 35% that didn't like it were very redundant with getting their point
across. I definitely didn't get a 50-50 reaction, not even close. If anything I might be inclined to take that 65% up a bit...

I played it for a few friends and the common reaction was..."That's it? It's over?" They were expecting some big climax. I'm not the
average joe is really familiar with Whitney's new vocals...so that is going to take people some getting used to.

So true DD - the expectation may be for IWALY or IHN vocals before they hear it. Hopefully given that they must know some of the backstory of recent years
(real or imagined), then they may see it in a different light after a couple of listens- more of a testimony that the past is done and learned from and the
future awaits

joeyontherun is right, it's 50/50 across the board. the reaction i found scanning twitter globally on tweet deck over 2 days was either they liked it right
away or not. nothing in between. sure, you can blogs that are 100% positive comments and likewise you can blogs that are 100% negative comments. it is very
MIXED not one side or the other. if so, then officially give the final version and not some half ass raw vocals with no production values. at this point even
britney's "everytime" gets more positive reaction. IDKMOS is for her core fans not the general populace who knows nothing about whitney except
she's 'the voice'. in that case, it sets arista for a disappointing radio stats.

Have people started to hear it on the radio?

i heard it myself.. one time on wxfc and magic 102.3. plays on "todays rnb and soul stations".

you cant tell if it's the official or leaked version. likewise they were playing LINL when it first leaked too. then it stopped with c&d orders. |

The majority opinion that matters (avid fans) LOVES this song. Blog chatter, trolls, and redundant troublemakers may be very active on the internet, but that
doesn't make this song hit or miss on a 50/50 basis. As stefwhit surmises, I'd say 65% of the authentic audience loves this leaked take of IDKMOS. They
find it compelling, moving and just straight beautiful. How that plays out for the label is anyone's guess, but my bet is for an imminent remix release for
TOP 40 and a mastered, slightly longer version of the ballad for Adult AC.

The only one that are going to comment on her vocal not being up to par are mega fans of whitney. the average joe is still going to think she can blow because she is still miles better than anyone out there today. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!! |

Like DD said, and I really didn't think about until I played the song for some more people who know Whitney but don't follow her like us, they will
need to get used to Whitney's tone. Some people are kind of shocked that it is her saying, "That doesn't sound like Whitney Houston," etc. As
far as IDKMOS goes, VERY mixed reaction from the people I've played it for; I'd say 60/40 like it.
There would need to be some kind of promotion for this song and a HUGE live performance by Whitney that gets people talking about the song. I was happy to read that this is not the final produced version. Also, I hope Arista makes a public statement like they did with LINL. It's getting late though so I they make a decision already...MAKE A DECISION and get a single out there this week!!! The song has grown on my and with a better version/production it might work. I did find myself singing it in my head this morning which is a good sign.. |
