Here are now the results of the first Classic Whitney Album Poll. Thanks to everybody for posting your picks and especially to those who commented on their picks. I enjoyed reading it and I hope others did, too. All in all, 114 posters have casted their votes. A special thank you goes to Manish for making this possible. And the biggest thank you goes to Whitney Houston for giving us the music that we love so much. Maybe you want to share the results and tweet, blog or mail this, especially regarding the position of "I Look To You". Also read the original thread with the rules and the votes. Now here's the list with the results.

Whitney Houston's only season album hasn't been included in any top 3. It remains her least successful album. |

The only regular Whitney Houston studio album which was produced by L.A. Reid and the only one not be certified multi-platinum in the US, doesn't hit a nerve with the fans, either. Only nine people out of 114 included it on their lists with an average of 1,78 points, the lowest average aside from "One Wish" and the #2 album. |

While it might be a big surprise for many that Whitney Houston's most sucessful album did not make the top 3 and almost had to switch positions with "Whitney", it is the first album to surpass the two points average. |

Even though Whitney Houston's debut album hasn't been picked by as many people as "The Bodyguard" it was the most popular album among those who did pick it. Only three points ahead of the monumental sountrack and two points behind #3. |

Five points ahead of "The Bodyguard", "The Preacher's Wife" is the oldest album to be in the top 3. It is also the least successful album (aside from #2 which is too new to tell) to be in the top 7. |

Whitney Houston's newest album is what most people think is her second best. Picked by almost twice as many poster as #3 but only with a little bit more than 1.5 times more points. It has the lowest average point number aside from "One Wish" and is on a par with "Just Whitney" which means that those who included it didn't rank it as high as those who selected the other six albums. As it is the newest album, it obviously has a small bonus (the low average being one indicator) but it also had a malus for the very same reason (as many people disqualified it for their selection). |

Although its popularity among fans has been undoubted, this kind of victory is pretty impressive and surprising. It's the album which has been picked by the biggest number of posters and it's the #2 album regarding average points. It is thirty points and one poster ahead of the #2 album. Congratulations to Whitney and Clive for producing this #1 album (which failed to hit #1 in the major markets back in 1998/9)! |

Hope to do this next year again!
